captioned by closed captioning services, inc. breaking news in burlingame guests of the airport embassy suites hotel are evacuated police and firefighter there is after discovery of a dangerous gas. >> terry mcsweeney is live at the scene. what is going on right now? >> reporter: we are told that hundreds of people have been evacuated there the -- from the embassy suites airport hotel as a result of a carbon monoxide leak that got into the hotel sometime last night. guests are being allowed to be in the lobby. as of this moment no one is being allowed to go back into their rooms. look at video, the fire chief says the hotel called this for an air quality check around 12:30 this morning. when the fire crews got out here, high levels of carbon monoxide were detected,

everyone was told to get out of their rooms. the hotel was at or near capacity, hundreds of people. the problem has been identified as a faulty boiller. the problem was getting everyone out. >> we were sleep -- [ inaudible ] there was an emergency [ inaudible ] >> reporter: talking to county fire just a few minutes ago. some people if they have flights are being allowed to go back into their rooms, pack tear stuff and leave. as far as going back into their rooms that process has not begun yet. hundreds out of the hotel. many allowed to stay in the

lobby where the air quality has determined to be okay. the source of the carbon monoxide has been determined to be a boiler here, it has been isolated, shutdown the ventilating process has begun. these suites have sliding glass doors on a windy morning like this if the air is circulating well plus they have an in-house ventilation system to get the carbon monoxide out. it is winding down. the people who would like to be sleeping now are still out of their rooms. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. our other big story the weather, rain headed our way. >> that's the key, headed our way, not here yet. good morning. here's a look at live doppler, partly cloudy as we expected winds picked up overnight and breezes going to be more of an issue for the commute than the rain which is still near crescent city about to move into eureka over the last

men accused of vandalizing a muni bus last week is scheduled for arraignment. yesterday san francisco police arrested another suspect thanks in part to social media. ama daetz has the details. >> reporter: they smashed, trashed and torched this muni bus during the giants celebration october 29th. police arrested a second suspect, 19-year-old nicholas hudson of daly city. >> this person was seen smashing out the window and vandalizing the muni bus on the 29th. >> reporter: the public helped track hudson down. >> if it wasn't through the use of social media and help of the public, we probably wouldn't have captured this person. >> reporter: social media also helped police arrest 22-year-old gregory graniss of san francisco. he was caught after this picture went viral. police are releasing more pictures from that night. look at this man dressed in

the search is on for a gunman who shot at a deputy in monterey county the deputy was

behind the wheel of her patrol car when somebody shot out the rear window of her car. it happened around 4:30 p.m. yesterday. a piece before flying glass cut the deputy in the back of the neck. she is expected to be fine. the moraga school district changing tactics in defense against former student. she said district officials failed to act when she accused two teachers of abusing her in the 90s. district drew outrage when they responded to the lawsuit by claiming her carelessness or may have played a role in what happened. yesterday the district issued a statement apologizing and decked its attorney to withdraw that line of defense. she accepts the apology. chevron will use corrosion resistant piping.
